In our current polarized political environment, many people dislike and avoid political conversations with family, neighbors, or coworkers whose opinions differ from their own. We worry, rightly so, that any attempts at political discussions will devolve into arguments and acrimony, and result in hurt feelings or anger and even damage the relationship. By participating in this workshop, you will learn skills for having respectful conversations that clarify differences, search for common ground, and affirm the importance of the relationship.

What can we do to make an impact so everyone has a safe place to live? Join us on Friday, April 21st from 6 to 8 PM at St. Francis Catholic Church for a panel discussion on how zoning impacts affordable housing. Learn about what you can do to impact change in our community.

Congregation Beth Shalom and UUCGT welcome you to a Yom HaShoah/Holocaust Remembrance joint service this year on Sunday, April 16th at 10:30 AM. Following the service will be a short screening (45 minutes) of the film Shoah Ambassadors from the Zekelman Holocaust Center.

Visionalist Entertainment spent time this month filming in Leelanau and Grand Traverse counties for an upcoming PBS documentary that will feature what individuals living in poverty experience on a daily basis. Director and producer Keith Famie is also focusing on the organizations who are helping those in need.
